The first thing that we wanted was the ability to automatically hyperlink specific text within the article, something that is very important for search engine optimization and getting the proper backlinks.  Another thing that we wanted was the ability to submit the articles to various directories with a small pop-up window which always stayed on top.  This kept us from switching back and forth between programs while we were doing repetitive tasks, and allowed us to do this task with a clickable button.
